Battle of the Best: It Begins!

- VOTING IS CLOSED FOR THE BATTLES LISTED IN THIS POST-
After going over numerous top ten, twenty, and hundred lists in addition to our own top ten lists, sixteen bands have been selected for battle.
Bands were matched against one another according to how often they appeared on top [insert number] – the top seed versus the bottom seed and so on.
The winner of each match-up will be decided here on the Owl Pellets blog through comments (i.e. votes). Voting is open to anyone and everyone.
Here’s the bracket as of now (click on the image to view it in a larger format):
The first two matchups will be Bob Marley and the Wailers vs The Velvet Underground

You are welcome to post more than just your vote – try to convince others, etc.
I’m still undecided on Velvet Underground versus Marley, but I’m voting the Stones.
I hope the bracket is to everyone’s liking. It could have been much bigger, but I just went with the bands that are always mentioned on ‘best band’ lists and our own lists. The above bands are the sixteen with the most votes.

i like the velvet underground AND bob marley, but I will vote for BOB.
I will also vote for the POLICE.
