Jerks…

As you may know, HBO is making “Game Change.” You may also know that Julianne Moore is playing Sarah Palin.
Ed Harris will be playing John McCain. The flick will also star Woody Harrelson, Melissa Farman, and Larry Sullivan.
It’s just too good. And their use of Glitch Mob sure doesn’t hurt.
Soemthing else pretty cool???
These glow stick costume videos (unrelated to Fighting Gravity):

Crude? Very. But equally hilarious. Danny McBride is hilarious, of course. To me, McBride is the antithesis of David Koechner, an actor I just can’t enjoy. So, two seasons of McBride nonsense — well, what more could you ask for.
Apparently, a third (and, most likely, final) season is in the works.
Grade: A

After watching the fourth episode of NBC’s new Parks and Recreation today, I feel safe in recommending it to all of ya. Parks and Recreation is produced and written by Michael Schur and Greg Daniels and it shows. Michael Schur produces and writes The Office. However, and this is a big “however,” it is not Office-lite. It’s like The Office to the extent that it operates in a fairly closed work environment and is semi-documentation in tone.
Parks and Recreation follows a bunch of city workers in Indiana and it is honestly hilarious. It’s a microcosm of government that is incredibly enjoyable, clever, and offers plenty of not-in-your-face commentary.
My favorite character? This guy:

Ron Swanson is a city manager who hates government and bureaucracy. Ron Swanson: ‘What’s my idea of a perfect government? One guy sitting in a small room at a desk who’s only in charge of which countries to nuke… and women are brought to him when he desires them.’
The “for TV” edit of the famous line from Snakes on a Plane. This version was shown on FX.

I am no fan of ‘American Idle’ and the like. However, last night, I was sent a link to the below video and it is one fuckin’ heartwarming moment in TV land (tear-in-eye*). Well done, Susan Boyle! Well done!

I’m starting this at 10:30pm (eastern time) on the dot.
Random thoughts as of 10:30pm:
1. The simpler, less extravagant Oscars are a plus.
2. Heath Ledger winning The Oscar was a powerful moment in Oscar history.
3. Bill Maher is an awful, awful comedian – I hesitate to even call him a “comedian.” Damn, he sucks. I mean, he really, really sucks. What an arrogant, terrible human being.
4. I’ve enjoyed the comedy so far – Seth Rogen, Ben Stiller, and Tina Fery come to mind.
5. The opening was pretty damn good.
6. I am ashamed of how behind I am this year when it comes to movies.
7. What is the deal with Hoffman’s hat?
10:35pm
Will Smith was a good choice. And Slumdog Millionaire is looking good for the win.
10:55pm
I really enjoyed the last acceptance speech (score for Slumdog Millionaire) – why? Because the guy finished with “God is great.” In your pompous face, Bill Maher!
11:06pm
Hugh Jackman has been a good host.
11:16pm
Roy Schneider, Isaac Hayes, Charlston Heston, and Paul Newman… where was Heath Ledger?
11:20pm
Boyle just won Director.
11:32pm
Kate Winslet has won Best Female Actor.
11:47pm
Sean Penn just gave one hell of an acceptance speech – I’ll be sure to post it ASAP.
11:56pm
Slumdog wins Best Picture. I was very pleased with The Oscars this year. Sean Penn > Bill Meyer.

I have an immediate aversion to anything that gets put on MTV – it usally turns out or turns into a total piece of crap. Well, the first episode of The College Humor Show on MTV was pretty good – it was pretty much a 30 minute CH clip. Want to check it out? Stream it here.
