The following are my favorite albums of 2007. By “favorite,” I mean that these are the albums I find myself listening to the most.
7. Timbaland – Shock Value
6. M.I.A. – Kala
5. Patrick Wolf – The Magic Position
4. Radiohead – In Rainbows
3. Josh Ritter – The Historical Conquests of Josh Ritter*
* I highly recommend this album. Check it out.
2. Kanye West – Graduation**
1. The Arcade Fire – Neon Bible**
** Selecting the number one spot was incredibly difficult for me: Kanye or The Arcade Fire? Honestly, I’m not sure. Kanye’s album is revolutionary and I listen to it on an almost daily basis, but there is something overwhelmingdark and beautiful about Neon Bible, which probably gave it the edge.
Albums that probably would have qualified, but, for this and that reason, I have not been able to give them appropriate listening time include: Lupe Fiasco’s The Cool, T.I.’s T.I. vs T.I.P., Scream Club’s Action! Disco!, and Bruce Springsteen’s Magic.

i was wondering who would get the #1 spot. weird how i have kanye in front of arcade fire, and you have arcade fire in front of kanye. never saw that coming. also, what about patrick wolf?

yeah. it was a tough call.
i just added p. wolf and m.i.a. i woke up this morning and, of course, i had a bunch of other albums bouncing around my head that i had forgotten. think of this little list as, “hey, i’m kind of bored so i guess i’ll make a list of albums i really like, yo!” and not as something i spent an enormous amount of time compiling.

I couldn’t find a general Kanye thread, so I’m going to infiltrate this one with a random comment: Kanye’s got some awesome [graphic] designers on his side.

This is very true. He’s got a pretty arty entourage.
